The Walden Lions Club has been a big supporter of those in need in the community and in the Greater City of Sudbury. The Elgin Street Mission and the Blue Door Kitchen are located in the building owned and run by the Samaritan Centre. All three of these organizations provide services to the those in the community who need the most help including the homeless, seniors and lower-income families. These free services include meals, showers, computer access, telephone, laundry, job counseling, and mental health and addiction counseling.
These services would not be available if not for these organizations. The Walden Lions are proud to support these groups and their efforts to help those who need the help the most. The Elgin Street Mission was especially in need of donations as their industrial dishwasher was broken and needed a new heating coil at the cost of over $5,000.00. The Walden Lions would like to thank these organizations for making a difference in our community.
